Question: Is zip code data like this showing vaccine rates available across the country?
Answer: To my knowledge, there is no national database of vaccination rates by zip code. You can find vaccination rates by county using CDC’s COVID Data Tracker (further discussed in our Q&A of 4/8/21). You can also find vaccination rates by zip code for some states and metropolitan areas depending on the degree to which state and local health departments make such data available. For example, a local ABC affiliate created zip-code look-ups for vaccination coverage in California thanks to the CA health department making these data publicly available. The same goes for Texas, where a local news affiliate is sharing interactive maps created thanks to zip code data released by the TX department of health (Figure). One interesting nugget– Texas doesn’t report county-level data to CDC’s COVID Data Tracker, but you can access even more granular data (zip codes!) by going to a more local, Texas-focused source (that seems very Texan to me!). If you’re curious about vaccination rates by zip code for your area, the best place to start is likely your state or local health department COVID-19 webpages. And if you can’t find it there, the next best thing to do is to look up county-level rates compiled by CDC.
