Question: Is there a website that shows the rate of covid vaccinations within states?
Answer: The Washington Post uses CDC data to present state-by-state trends in daily vaccinations administered. As of June 7th, nearly 140 million people have been fully vaccinated in the US and another 31.5 million have received their first dose (Table 1). As you can see in Figure 1, all states have reached at least 40% population coverage except for five– Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Wyoming, and Idaho– and vaccination coverage is highest in the northeast. Last week, President Biden set a goal to administer at least 1 dose to 70% of Americans ages 18+ by July 4th. With ~258 million adults ages 18+ in the US, in order to reach the goal, ~180.5 million adults will need to receive at least one dose by Independence Day– ~16.3 million more adults than have currently been reached. With 26 days left to meet the goal, it is doable; it is within reach! Indeed, 13 states have already achieved the goal and many other states are very close (Figure 2).
